To boot into that recovery, use either Vol+ + Power or Vol+ + Vol- + Power (second one started to be the case when I flashed about 10 ROMs back and forth).

Don't forget that if you still have stock MIUI ROM and flash the recovery, you must boot directly into it. If you let the MIUI boot after replacing the recovery
with TWRP, it will replace it back with the stock one.
